https://digitalcitizenship-2a.wikispaces.com/Digital+Commerce

Consider:

1-What are some concerns with shopping online?

2-How can you know that you are on a secure site?

3-What are some ways to make sure you can be safe when shopping online?

4-What should you (as a young adult) always do before shopping online?

Some considerations:
1-identity theft/stolen financial information, scams

2-lock symbol, statements of security, encryptions

3-Talk to your parents, especially before paying and before meeting someone face-to-face

Assignment: Comment on this blog post with 2-3 sentences about your parents' opinions on online shopping.  If you're not sure, ask your parents before responding (or have your parents respond for you!).  Be sure to put your first name only on your blog post.

My parents will look on line for thing but try to avoid shopping on line. They look before they go into stores.

My parents do not believe in online shopping at all. My mom will only pay for something online if completely necessary and my dad doesn't even have a credit or debit card. My dad does meet people from Craigslist though.

My parents do not like online shopping. The reason is because they can rip you off. And they can take your information.

  4. Rory M: My parents use online shopping when they can't make it to the store or can't find what they want at the store. They use it when there is free shipping because it is convenient. They don't want me to use it because I don't have a credit card.

  5. Hannah- My parents opinion on online shopping is it is useful. Reasons including: you can stay home and not fight crowds; you can stay in your pj's and you don't need to look around and walk all over the mall it is all at the touch of your finger tips.

My mom doesn't do much much shopping online. She is afraid of identity theft. If she has to she will shop online because it is convenient. She tries to avoid it as much as possible.

  9. Sabrina- My parents think that online shopping is okay. They always like for me to check with them before I buy something. My parents are okay with buying the things I like to buy just so long as they okay it.

  10. Kody, My parents think it's stupid and unneeded to shop online. They make me and my sister do it. They rather have us go to the store instead
